Martin
Stear is a registered Occupational
Hygienist with 20 years experience, 10 years in consultancy and
then 10 years in HSE, the last 6 years as a Principal Specialist
Inspector. Martin headed the Industry Risks and Programme
Development section. Martin has extensive experience developing
national risk management strategies aimed at reducing risks to
health in various industry sectors. Throughout this work Martin
has represented HSE nationally and internationally, developing
workable and often innovative solutions, aimed at reducing
workplace risks. Key areas of work have included asbestos,
solvents, coating powders, metalworking fluids, cytotoxic drugs

Tracey Boyle
is a registered Occupational Hygienist and
has worked in consultancy, industry and the regulatory sector.
Working for HSE Tracey has been a key player in the development of
national strategy on the management of asbestos, writing technical
policy guidance at a national and international level. She has
managed research that has led directly to changes in national
policy and guidance on the control of asbestos removal work.
Tracey’s experience in industry is broad, having developed policy
and delivery strategies on safety, occupational hygiene and the
environment. She has extensive experience in noise assessment and
control in the workplace and has successfully resolved several
long running environmental noise complaints. Tracey successfully
implemented EN14001 across a multi-site UK company.
